About Perfectly Me
Founded in 2007 by Raquel Whiting Gilmer, Perfectly Me is a Baltimore-based mission-driven company serving children in kindergarten through fifth grade across Maryland. For nearly two decades, we have partnered with schools, families, and communities to create summer camp and club programs where children feel seen, supported, and encouraged to grow.
Perfectly Me was created to help children grow into kind, confident people who understand who they are and how they impact others.
In a world that often prioritizes achievement over character, Perfectly Me focuses on the core skills children need to build healthy relationships, lead with empathy, and feel a sense of belonging. We believe childhood is where these values take root, and that when children practice them early, they carry them forward for life.

because I’m a mom and I want my son to be a superhero and great human. And I know this isn’t going to be easy but I feel more confident because I’ve got my Perfectly Me Team and my superhero crew fighting along-side me, the Perfectly Me SuperHeroes.

What Makes Perfectly Me Different
Perfectly Me goes beyond traditional camp enrichment or academic support. Our programs are designed around lived experience, not lectures.
To do this, founder Raquel Whiting Gilmer created the Perfectly Me SuperHero Squad as a storytelling framework that helps kids understand who they are and how they show up in the world.
Each superhero represents strengths that can change the world, qualities like kindness, courage, compassion, resilience, and confidence. These HeroValues are woven throughout our programs and brought to life through stories, shared language, and small group experiences.
Children don’t just hear about these values, they practice them. Through games, challenges, reflection, and real moments with peers, kids learn how to train their HeroValues and build emotional resilience in a safe, supportive environment.
