Perfectly Me SuperHero of the Month
We know every kid is a superhero and we want to recognize the kids that go above and beyond to live out the Perfectly Me Supervalues with their friends, family, community, and world. Each month on the third Tuesday of the month we will announce the new superhero of the month.
This month’s superhero is the amazing Keno Brown, Jr. from Baltimore, Maryland! For several years, Keno demonstrated the supervalue of compassion by running Keno Kares, an organization that provides hats, gloves, and scarves to kids in need.
Keno is a smart and compassionate young boy with a heart to serve. In 2018, during the holiday season, Keno started Keno Kares to aid those who are in need. Through Keno Kares, Keno has been able to help children in Baltimore City, where he resides, and children abroad. Keno collected hats, gloves and scarves for Baltimore City students at Arlington Elementary Middle School, and with the help of the community, family, friends and his parents Keno was able to donate over 250 sets to the students. Last year, Keno Kares had an international partnership with the Centro Laila Orphanage in Mondragone, Italy, which is a home for children from all over Sub-Saharan Africa. Keno donated hats, gloves, scarves and coats to the orphanage. Keno’s giving does not only happen during the holiday season, but also throughout the year. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Keno Kares donated lunch to COVID-19 hospital staff at the Maryland Veteran Affairs Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
Keno is a 5th grade student at The Boys' Latin School of Maryland. He plays football for the Secret Society Park Heights Saints and wrestles for the Baltimore Stingers Wrestling club. Keno is a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church where he serves as member of the Junior Usher Board and The Sunbeams Choir
